About Margot

Hello! I'm Margot Charkow-Ross, and I have been in the support game, before I probably understood what that meant. My journey in support roles has woven its way through various stages of my life, shaping my path in unexpected ways. From early experiences in babysitting, nannying, and camp counseling to managing sports teams during high school, my disposition towards aiding and guiding others became evident.

During college, I discovered internships focused on educating and supporting individuals on various health topics, while simultaneously pursuing courses to become a drug and alcohol counselor. This propelled me towards a deeper commitment to wanting to work with people, leading me to attain my Masters of Social Work. My focus gravitated towards clinical therapy and mental health. My beginning experiences as a social worker were diverse spanning from probation, community mental health, and foster/adoption services.

For over a decade, I dedicated the majority of my time to working with incarcerated males, facilitating both individual and group sessions aimed at addressing mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as promoting future-oriented changes. Later, I transitioned to supporting and educating staff that work inside of institutions and different areas of the department on health and wellness. The opportunity to empower and uplift individuals amid their challenging environments has been a great experience with so many different aspects.

Three years ago, I established my part-time private psychotherapy practice. In my practice, Go2Therapy, I engage with individuals and couples, guiding them towards a place of reduced anxiety, negative emotions, and increased communication, focus and enjoyment for life. It's an absolute joy to work with my clients, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have connected with them. I firmly believe in the power of therapy in personal and professional development, and I'm grateful for the trust my clients place in me as we navigate the discomfort of growth together in a safe place.

While not everyone may be ready for therapy, I aspire for my website and offerings to serve as a resource for those taking steps towards personal growth. My goal is to support you to help facilitate a journey towards consistent fulfillment in life, one step at a time.

Below is a CV with more detailed information on my education and career.

Targeting populations with unique needs preparing to release, including long-term inmates, youth offenders, sex offenders, developmentally disabled individuals, those aged 60+, transgender individuals, and pregnant inmates outside the mental health system, I conducted a minimum of 3 sessions before release to provide resources, develop plans, and impart essential skills for a successful release.
